Postpartum Care for Mothers and Providers

This program offers comprehensive, trauma-informed, evidence-based, mind-body medicine, drills & skills practice-based training to explore and experience the advantages of postpartum Yoga Nidra, breath practice and writing reflection. This workshop also focuses on strategies to build individual and group mind, body, and spirit resilience to prevent care provider burnout.

Postpartum Care for Mothers and Providers Program is designed to address the current gap in preventative resilience training that integrates both psychological and physical health strategies.

This Program is for:

  • Postpartum mothers

  • Midwives and Doulas

  • Other care providers

Structure:

  • 4 hour workshop

Goals: 

  • Mother: This program was born from a desire to empower women with a toolset of Yoga Nidra and breath practices and strategies to navigate the journey of motherhood, build strength, resiliency, innate wisdom and trust, and skillful navigation of the challenges and opportunities encountered. 

  • Providers: Experience severe staffing shortages, work overtime during a pandemic, and are at risk for vicarious trauma and moral injury. The goal of this program is to increase mind-body and spirit resilience through complementary and alternative medicine (CAM)  evidence-based modalities proven to prevent compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, and burnout due to workplace conditions.

AABC Birth Institute, the annual convention of the American Association of Birth Centers, is the nation's premier conference for birth centers and brings together about 200 birth advocates from across the nation.
